Position Title:
- Determine vehicle or equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to determine cause of failure
- Follow through with repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment in a timely manner
- Do preventive maintenance and good record keeping of services, repairs or damages on all heavy equipment, such as oil changes and scheduled hour-miles services on equipment or vehicles to keep in good working condition
- Responsible for routine greasing, blowing of filters and fueling of machines/vehicles at designated jobsites. Log performed services and turn in daily at office
- Request purchase order from office for parts needed for small repairs or approval from owner on costly repairs
- Order and pick up parts for repairs when needed
- Ensure all parts and material not used or needed are returned for proper credit
- Keep assigned service truck clean, maintained and well equipped with basic necessary tools to perform repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment
- Must have mechanical knowledge, able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical failure on heavy equipment such as blades, excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, forklifts etc.
- Must be able to climb on equipment in order to perform inspections of engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components
- Ability to work after-hours if required to repair or diagnose cause of failure on vehicles and heavy equipment
- Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment and vehicles
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment while at jobsites for safety
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Bilingual: Spanish/English
Employee will regularly be exposed to outside weather conditions, moving machinery and loud noise level
Position Title:
Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Mechanic
We are seeking a knowledgeable, reliable construction heavy equipment mechanic with at least 3 years’ experience in heavy construction equipment. Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment and keep in good operating conditions by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements. Travel to Pecos, Texas will be required when needed.
Work Schedule: Full Time
Wage Rate: $24/hr.
